Lessons from a Candle

As part of our Yoga instructor training, we were asked to sit in a circle and gaze at a candle, yesterday.

As simple at it seemed, I started with no major expectations.

But as soon as we started, I had an instant connection with this flame and it seemed like the flame was talking to me through thoughts...

The flame seemed to look like two hands joined together in namaste. As flame danced with the wind, allowing the wind to shape it, I felt that it was reinforcing an important life lesson.

External situations can always fluctuate and may not seem ideal. But you can hold your ground if you center yourself and allow the situations to mold you.

Next time, you have a few minutes to spare, light a candle, sit a metre away and gaze at it. See what it has to say to you.
